If Buddy League is canceled or delayed, we will share updates on our website homepage, Facebook, and Instagram by 7:30 AM on gamedays.

Please do not call or email to confirm if we are playing. We cannot notify every parent, player, volunteer, and potential attendee individually.

No news posted = the fields are dry and Buddy League is happening.

We will provide your player with one player shirt each year and the game equipment needed to bat.

Please bring your child in their team shirt and closed-toed shoes. Players are welcome to bring their own glove or bat, but they are not required.

Arrive 30 minutes early on your first day if you haven’t turned in your child’s release form or picked up their shirt.

Buddy League is played with love on our accessible baseball field, located at Bradfield Park—1220 Castle Dr Garland, Texas 75040.

Each game, arrive at least 15 minutes before your child’s game time. If you need to turn in forms or pick up your child’s shirt, arrive at least 30 minutes early to the park.

Lastly, a parent or guardian must be present for your child to play.

Our Board of Directors will finalize teams assignments after player registration ends.

We will send your child’s team assignment and game time to the email address you provided at registration.

No. All players must have an original, notarized liability release form on file to participate in Buddy League.

No scanned copies. No photos. No exceptions.

Help keep our Buddy League families safe—we’ll see you when you’re well again.

If possible, email us ahead of time so we can update your coach and manage volunteer demand.

For Buddy volunteers

Volunteer FAQs

If you’re between 8–17 years old, you can become a Buddy volunteer.

  1. For each game you expect to attend, please register to volunteer. This helps us forecast how many Buddies to expect each week.
  2. Once per calendar year, the volunteer’s parent or legal guardian needs to sign a liability release in front of a notary public. Hand in this form to a board member at the snack/merch table.
  3. On gamedays, arrive by 8:30 AM to attend our volunteer orientation. We’ll go over everything you need to know to be an amazing Buddy.
  • Wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes fit for running around a baseball field.
  • Some games get bright and sunny, so wear sunscreen.
  • Buddy League provides free, ice-cold bottled water to volunteers. Bring cash if you’d like to buy a soft drink, candy, or other snacks.
  • If you need us to sign or validate volunteer hours, bring your form.

We play Buddy League at 1220 Castle Dr Garland, Texas 75040, across from Sellers Middle School.

Sign in and out
Near the snack stand, sign in when you arrive and sign out before you leave. If you need someone to validate your service hours, ask a Buddy League board member before you leave. They’re wearing blue jerseys.

Please arrange a timely ride home following Buddy League. Our last game ends at 1:00 PM.

An organization leader or coach should reach out to us ahead of time. This helps us avoid overcrowding and create a better experience for everyone.

For parents and legal guardians

Player registration FAQs

To participate in Buddy League, you need to do 3 things once per calendar year:

  1. Register your child to play.
  2. Print the latest liability release and sign it with a notary public.
  3. Turn in your notarized release form.

When Spring player registration is open, everyone will need a new player registration and liability release form.

All players will receive new team assignments and shirts.

  • If your child played in Spring: You are already registered for Fall. We will use the same shirts and team assignments from Spring.
  • If your child did not play in Spring: You need a new player registration and liability release form.

Every calendar year, all players need a new liability release—regardless of age or past participation in Buddy League.

Print the latest release form, sign it in the presence of a notary public, and then turn in the original, notarized form. 

The liability release covers the current calendar year—Spring and the following Fall season only. New year—new release form.

All players must have a notarized liability release form on file to participate in Buddy League. 

  1. Download, print, and read the latest liability release. Do not sign it yet.
  2. In the presence of a notary public, fill out and sign the form.
  3. Mail or turn in the original, notarized liability release form. If the season is about to start, hand it in to a Board Member at the snack/merch table.

Before you mail us forms

We must have your original, notarized release on hand at the ballpark before your child can participate.

If you’re sending it early enough, mail it to:

If Opening Day is coming up soon, do not mail your form—we may not receive it in time. Instead, arrive 20 minutes before your child’s first game and hand it in at the ballpark. Check your email for your players team assignment and game time.

What is a notary public?

A notary public is an official who confirms your identity when you sign an important document. They check your ID, watch you sign, and then stamp or sign the form to make it official.

You can find a notary at a bank, shipping store (like UPS), or city office. Some may charge a small fee.

To get your form notarized:

  1. Print the release form, but don’t sign it yet.
  2. Take your blank form and your photo ID to a notary.
  3. The notary will check your ID, watch you sign, and notarize the form.
  4. Later, turn in the original, notarized liability release to Buddy League.
